Dear Friends of Karmarati,
Around 3 weekends ago, Steve Glick dropped by Karmarati Yoga when he visited Jakarta. My husband, Dennis, got to know Steve during a wilderness retreat in Colorado in 2011. During this reunion, Dennis had said that he enjoyed the many heart-to-heart conversations that he was able to engage with Steve. So did I. Not many people in our circle of friends have as intense a dedication in the Truth-seeking path as Steve does. Moreover, his openness and genuine interest in our life stories, as well as his evolved understanding of human nature made our conversations that more enjoyable. We spent a night in Puncak and the next morning Dennis and Steve did some asanas together in the open-air hotel room balcony. During breakfast, Steve introduced us to life in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts, where he resides. The Berkshires also happens to be where Kripalu is located. Kripalu is one of the foremost yoga and health centers in the world and has been on my top places to visit for some time! Since Steve is a member of the Board of Trustees at Kripalu, he gave me a first hand account of the services that Kripalu gives to the yoga community. It is truly wonderful to be reminded how big things always originated from something small. But with dedication and commitment, that small thing will always grow. Steve and I said our goodbyes, but I expect that it won't be too long before we meet again - this time hopefully in the Berkshires!
